This link was taken from the blog Black Girl Long Hair. I am def going to try these things. Although I try to keep the products I use under $10 the cost does add up. I hope that you will find these tips useful on your journey.

Wash Night

Tonight I'm washing my hair. It's actually my poo day so I shampoo'd my hair and did a moisturizing deep condition. I used Garnier Fructis Length and Strengthen shampoo, and for my moisturizing deep conditioner I tried something a little different. I did a hot oil conditioning treatment. I heated up some olive oil and mixed it with my Garnier Fructis Fall Fight conditioner. I was really pleased with the results. It left my hair feeling very soft and moisturized.

If when you wash your hair it feels dry doing a deep moisturizing condition is prefect for restoring your moister. You can use the conditioner that you would normally use to Co wash your hair:
1. Place enough in a container to cover your whole head
2. Heat oils (olive oil, coconut oil, etc...)
3. Mix and apply
using your conditioning cap let it set for 15 or 30 min and rinse, and apply your moisturizer and style. You can use this as a pre conditioning and Co-wash after using as well.

Broadway presents: Hair Starring My Hair

Today my club hosted an event on campus and this is what I wore. My hair as of late seems to only like puffs lol. It maybe the change in weather idk, but twist outs and braid outs really aren't working. I'm just a supporting cast in the show known as my hair *sigh*

Trying a new product

Today while trying to re-up on my Beautiful Textures I came across this product. I'd read pretty good reviews on the line but I couldn't really find it. I was super excited when I actually found it today. It's a Co Wash by sofn'free apart of the Nothing But line. I'm very anxious to use it on Wednesday (my next wash day) and may even push my wash day up lol. I'll be sure to blog about my experience with this product.

Sally's $7.99

My Crazy Hair

My attempt at a bantu knot out. I loved how defined my hair was after I took out the knots, but I really didn't style it well so here is the before shots of my hair. I watched a couple videos on how to do them but I guess I gotta practice a little more. I used Shea Moister Curl Enhancing Smoothie and Beautiful Textures Moister Butter.

Product Review

I use both of these products on a regular basis. I purchased the  Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie in hopes that it would "enhance" my curls; unfortunately for my hair type it really didn't do that, but instead i found it to be a really good moisturizer  It works well with twist out and braid out hair styles. The Beautiful Textures Moister Butter is a really good moisturizer as well. Of the Beautiful Textures line I've found this product, the growth oil and the shampoo work really well with my hair, and I absolutely love the smell.
Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie: Walgreens: $9.99
Beautiful Textures Moister Butter: Sally's $6.99
also from the line Tangle Taming Shampoo: $6.99 and Growth Oil: $6.99

Before trying this product I was not really fond of using gels on my hair. Once I saw how it really brought out my curl pattern I am now a fan. At first I was only using it on my wash-n-go hairstyles but I recently started to use a little on my edges whenever I do a puff.
Local Beauty Supply Store: $4.99

I tried this product thinking that would enhance my natural curl pattern but unfortunately it didn't. Not only did it not work well for my hair the smell is awful. I was kinda disappointed because I read pretty decent reviews on this product.
Target: $9.99

I absolutely LOVE this leave in! It's fairly inexpensive and it smells lovely. Before trying this product I wasn't really fond of leave ins due to a bad experience as a child, but after giving this a try I feel this product is works well.
Walgreens: $4.99

Stop Shedding

About a month ago I noticed that my hair was shedding like crazy. I could just look at it hard and I lost a strand of hair. Well I went to YouTube (my natural hair problem solver lol) to see if there were a lot of people experiencing the same thing. I found that I was definitely not alone, but that I should try black tea rinses because the caffeine stops shedding  At first I didn't believe it so I went and did more research on it and found that it does indeed help with shedding. I tried it and it worked! Black tea rinses are very simple: 1. boil a couple of bags of tea (doesn't have to be expensive tea or a big pot of water just enough to fill a spray bottle) 2. After letting it cool pour into a spray bottle and began using. Simple! I would do it on wash day. I would co-wash my hair detangle and rinse. I would let it stay on for about 10-15 min with my conditioning cap on and rinse. Below is a link of how it's done. I promise once I let go of being shy I will make a video but until then I'll show links of the videos.

Wash Day

I set aside two days a week to co-wash my hair.  Today is my deep condition day. I wash with Garnier Fructis Fall Fight Conditioner and deep condition with Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner. I started using the Garnier Fructis when I noticed a lot of shedding and breakage. It has caffeine and biotin in it so it works wonders with shedding. Before using this I tried black tea rinses and they seemed to work but that just gets so messy. I've been using Olive Oil for a while now and my hair really likes it. It keeps my hair soft and it has a pleasant citrus like smell. I've wanted to try a more natural deep conditioner so if anyone has one that they really love please share.

Garnier Frucits: Walgreens $4.99
Olive Oil: Sally's $6.99
